Clauder has served as an organizer and executive on progressive political campaigns for initiatives and candidates over the past seven decades. Last year he founded the non-profit Helpful Opportunities for Psychedelic Education (H.O.P.E.) to support the legalization of psychedelics for use in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT).

Clauder is currently working on three campaigns to legalize PAT in California. He is creating a statewide-chartered organization within the California Democratic Party to encourage party activists and elected officials to legalize PAT; he is promoting ordinances and resolutions supporting PAT to be adopted by municipal and county authorities; and he is the principal consultant for a campaign to place an initiative on the 2026 ballot if the legislature fails to legalize PAT.

A child of the 1960's, Clauder avoided his generation’s indiscriminate abuse of psychedelics as a party-drug, wisely choosing instead to utilize LSD for self-administered psychotherapy to successfully cure his clinically diagnosed “incurable paranoid schizophrenia.”
